Viagra for Fun
I'm a 20 year old guy and I wanted to take Viagra. I don't "need" it, but I heard that it can be fun for anyone who takes it. Is this healthy? Will I do permanent damage to myself?

Hi Steve. Although originally used to treat erectile dysfunction, Viagra has now become very popular as a recreational drug. Many men and women are now taking it to enhance their sex lives rather than creating it.
So far there have been no studies to suggest that this will cause any harm in most people. Viagra appears to be a very safe drug. However, there are certain types of medical conditions (for example, high or low blood pressure) that do cause problems for those who want to take it. Also, there are some other drugs and medications (for example, any of the prescribed nitrates or recreational nitrates) that can be very dangerous to mix with Viagra.
I've recently completed a section of this site dedicated to Viagra. I suggest that you read up about it here and then speak with your doctor about possible damages. Most likely though, if you don't need it, they're not going to prescribe it to you.
