few signs to be aware of about vaginal smells and secretions. This

Vaginal Smell is Normal!
Abby,
Your site is wonderful. I am so worried about my vaginal smell and secretions
- but just reading over some of your articles made me less nervous about it.
It's only normal after all.
Hopefully now I'll not be afraid to initiate sex and "move" during
intercourse with my boyfriend. We'll see as of tonight!
Thanks,
Stephanie
Vaginal Smells - Each Woman's is Unique!
Dear Stephanie,
It's great to hear that our sexual health site is
helping you learn more about the female body and
allowing you to relax and enjoy sex more.
Yes, it's true that each woman has a unique vaginal smell. And many men find
this smell to be very erotic. Secretions are also normal. To avoid sexually
transmitted diseases, pregnancy, and infection that would affect your
vaginal smell and secretions, using protection (male condoms) during every
sexual encounter is the best method.
Below are a few signs that you should be aware of if you are sexually active.
In these cases, it's important to go to a sexual health clinic such as family
planning clinics or a gynecologist. Be tested for infections and STD's. Many of
these are treated and curable if caught early, but they can cause infertility or
worse if untreated for a long time.
- If your vaginal smell is strong, fishy-smelling, or change.
- If your vaginal secretions are chunky, yellow, or change.
- If you are experiencing pain during sex or urination.
Take care and let me know if you have any questions or can't relax during
sex.
Thanks you to Nurse Sue for contributing the above answers.
Always,
Abby
